What a Migration Specialist Should Know

about

CollectMax

CollectMax runs as a:

Desktop-Based Application

This means CollectMax typically runs as desktop software within the firm's office on employee PCs, however, some firms may use an IT provider that hosts CollectMax on a remote server in a remote datacenter. In this scenario, firm members may RDP, TeamViewer, RemoteApp, or Screen Connect to a remote PC where they access CollectMax. In this scenario, some people may say that CollectMax runs 'in the cloud', however, it is really just a desktop application running on someone else's equipment.

CollectMax is used as a:

Debt Collection System

Debt Collection Systems are specialized practice management platforms that are optimized around the legal processes for debt collection.

Universal Migrator extracts data from CollectMax via:

Database Connections

CollectMax uses the following database backend:

dBase

The following credentials are required:

Admin CollectMax Credentials

The Migration Specialist will need an Administrator username and password into CollectMax in order to extract your data.

The computer used to migrate from CollectMax:

Can be located Anywhere

In order to migrate from CollectMax:

The Firm Administrator must complete a User Mapping spreadsheet.

A member of the firm will need to complete a small spreadsheet mapping users from CollectMax to users in the new system.

The following people are required for a migration from CollectMax:

Migration Specialist

The Migration Specialist is the person who will be performing this migration. They may be a member of Universal Migrator's own Internal Migration Team or any IT professional who has completed the Universal Consultant training program.

Firm Administrator

Special warnings about CollectMax

Plan Your Migration Timeline Correctly

With certain vendors, submitting a Notice of Termination/Non-Renewal can prompt a shift in cooperation: some will restrict or revoke export and backup capabilities, or limit the volume of data you're able to download, making migration more difficult.
To guard against this, best practice with any vendor, including CollectMax, is to withhold notice until you've been fully live on your new system for at least 30 days. In practice, this means your migration should be complete approximately 45 days before your notice deadline.

preferred partners

When we introduce you to a preferred partner, you know your project will be handled right.

Super Security

Preferred partners exceed industry standards, keeping your data protected in transit and at rest.

Zero Downtime

Your firm never stops working — even during the migration. You'll always have access to all your data.

100% Accuracy

Everything transfers right the first time. If you find an issue within 30 days, partners fix it free.

Hyper Responsive

Preferred partners are at your beck-and-call. Ready to talk at a moment's notice.
